This is my submition for :iconchildrensillustrator: Montly topic: Labyrinth

I dedicate this to :icontattoostiles: because he likes my stories :aww:

It was the same dream all over again. The little girl was inside those big dark corridors, so dark she almost couldn't see what was infront ot her. She was running, she was lost and sudenlly she fell. She woke up, sweating, scared. The big black bird was watching her inside her room, he didn't said anything 'cos he knew what was the dream about.

-It's time - The bird said.

The girl got dressed up in silence, trying to forget the dream. They got outside, it was still very dark and the forest seemed so quiet that night, not even the wind was blowing and the stars were shining in a wisper. The girl could feel all the eyes in the forest looking at her. Nobody would help her because this was her own quest. When they got near the Oulley forest the bird stoped.

-This is as far as I can get, but there's something I want to give you: my heart. - So the bird started to make noices and finally he throw up his heart wich became a black stone. -Wear it next to your own heart, it will guide you and protect you.

The girl took the stoneheart and put in in a little bag she was carrying. They looked to each other in silence. She turned her back to the bird and got into the forest.

Everything was so different in there, it wasn't like anything she saw before or felt before. It was a very dark place, darker than her own home. The silence filled every place, it seemed like if the forest were strangely alive. It wasn't a cold place nor warm, temperature there was something one couldn't speak of, it made her feel like numbed and aware at the same time. She walked for long hours but the light, or the lack of it, never changed. She looked up hoping to see the stars, there were nothing, she couldn't see anything, not even the tree tops, a black thing was up there and she could feel it move.

She walked and walked, until she got to a place were she could see some stars and finally, the golden tree. She got near to it and saw the ancient face up in the entrance: the keeper of the labyrinth. The face was looking at her with the big black eyes it has.

-I was waiting for you - it voice sounded like all the seasons and the soft wind.

-Would you let me in?- asked the little girl.

-Why do you want to get in? You might never come back. Go now, come back to your house, you're far too young, child.

-I need to get in.

The face looked at her, wondering.

-If you must.

The girl aproached to the entrance and looked up to see the face; nothing was there. She saw some steps, leading to the bottom so she started to walk down very carefully, there wasn't a light and the steps were slippery; after a while she couldn't feel any other step. The place was pretty deep black. She remembered the stoneheart and took it out of the bad.

-Show me the way - she wispered to it. The heart started to beat and everytime it moved a light was comming from inside of it, soon she could see were she were. In front of her were the big wooden doors. She walked to them and nocked. A deep sound started to fill the place, it were the sound of the doors openig; she got closer and saw what was in front of her: The Labyrinth.

wow...what can i say. i'm blown away. thank you for dedicating such an awesome story to me - how kind. the story itself is so incredible. but, now i'm going to expect this from you every time you put something up. i love your storymaking - the mythology you create is so remarkable....the bird coughing up the heart that turns into a black stone which in turn becomes the light to guide her - that is so cool. there are so many more images just for this writing alone that could be done. i'll be waiting.

oh....sorry, i also meant to say that i felt the labyrinth has such a nice aztec-like appearance to it. the style or look of it reminds me of aztec artistry.
